Subtasks disappearing

I am working in Project 2003 with a project plan that is about 2000 tasks in
length. When I complete a task and all the subtasks under a higher level
task are complete, I collapse the higher level task. Time will pass and I
will come back to review the detail subtasks, but will find the subtask task
name has disappeared. I have checked filters and everything I can think of,
but have not been able to recover the subtask task name. Any suggestions?

Have you tried closing and reopening the file.

Similar things have happened to me when I have to much going on at the same
time. I close programs and free up some memory.

That might work for you.

Good advice David.

I FREQUENTLY have this problem when I work through a wireless connection.
It consistantly erases the names of the tasks. The task names it *picks* to
erase are random. MSProject is VERY sensitive to network glitches.

If you're on wireless try switching to wired.

Thanks Redneck Dave and Sandra, it is true I have quite a few applications
open when I discovered the error. That might be part of the problem. I am
not on a wireless so that does not appear to be the problem. One of my gurus
suggested I run detect and repair. I did that this morning and will see what
happens.

Fran,

I also suggest checking your service pack level. I saw similar issues
with installations without service pack 2 installed.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
