sum column with formulas

how do total a column that has formulas in each cell

=IF(B2<=6,"1","0") this is my formula in each cell but when i sum at the
bottom i keep getting 0 although the are 1's in some cells

When you use double quotation signs around a number excel see it as text,
not a true number. To fix it use a formula without double quotation signs
like this:

=IF(B2<=6,1,0)
