Sum or SubTotal?

I have a spreadsheet with column "A" being a list of dates. Column "B" are
the sales for the dates. There are instances where there are several like
dates with different sales amounts associated with them.

I would like a formula that would Sum the $'s with like dates and return a
new set of columns with a signal date and corresponding total $ amount.

Then I could set up a chart with a single date and number rather than a
single date with 2 or more numbers.

Maybe you would like to check out the pivot table. The dates should be
pushed into the ROWS, and the $s should be SUM OF.
