Summary Rows

I have added Summary Rows for the first time. My understanding is that each
one adds up and reports the durations of the group of tasks it precedes.
It works just fine! But it is operating under the impression that I have a
12-hour Work Day. Three hours is reported as 0.25 days, and so on. I have
made no changes to the default 8-hr day and 40-hr week. They are set as
stated.
What other adjustment might affect this?

Hi Stephanie ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Each Summary does not "adds up and reports the durations of the group of
tasks". The Summary task Duration is a measure of the working time from the
begining of the first task to the finish of the last task. This might well
result in a xx.25 Duration.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Thanks, Mike. I "misspoke." Yes, I do actually understand that. What I
have is 6 tasks, each 0.5 hrs, all assigned to the same resource on the same
day. The Summary Row duration is 0.25 days. This typical of all the Summary
Rows in this project.

Yes, of course I read the FAQs before I came here.

Thanks, all! Problem solved: I had read the HELP item "the default link type
is finish-to-start," to mean that subsequent tasks are linked by default.
Thanks to Gil Sturgeon for clarifying this.
