Summary tasks showing up as milestones and critical path

It seems that every filter or report I compile to detail milestones includes
not only the milestones but also all the summary tasks.. how do I stop this
happening? It also happens when I select the critical filter (get all the
summary tasks too) - this problem really distorts the output and make it
unuseable.

Help please!

I am using MS Project 2003 Pro and Project Server

If you don't want to see the related summary tasks you need to update the
view. Go to Project - Filtered For - More Filters and click edit on the view
you are using or make a copy of the filter you are using (in you example the
Milestones filter) and then select edit. Uncheck "Show related summary rows".
