Table of contents index (Dokumentöversikten)

How do I get the text in index menu to appear in normal
size, not 5 cm large letters?
I have formatted the fonts, as instructed, using size 5
fonts the letters are now 2-3 cm. The index takes up half
the screen if I am to read the titles, then its not much
left over to work on ;-)

I think there are language difficulties here. Look here if you want to use
a newsgroup in a language other than English.
http://communities2.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx

Index: list of terms with page numbers they appear on, at end of book
Table of Contents (TOC): list of chapter and subsection headings with page
numbers they start on, at front of book.

Not sure which you are using.

However, both TOC and Index are automatically formatted in styles (either
TOC 1, TOC 2, up to TOC 9; or Index 1, Index 2, up to Index 9). Put the
cursor in the style you don't like, then click on Format | Style, a dialog
should appear with the style highlighted, click Modify and redefine the
style as you want it to appear.

In certain versions, the dialogs may be different, but what you want to do
is Modify the style.

Or maybe check your View | Zoom settings.

Hope that helps,

G'day "Ulrica" <[email protected]>,

Step 1: Let's view the styles in use.

Go to Tools > options > view
Set the style area width to be an inch or so.
Select OK
Select View > Normal

Hey hey! The left hand side of the screen now shows the styles in use!

Step 2: Redefine the bad styles

Scroll down to your index. Now you can clearly see the index styles in
use. Simple use Format > Style to redefine the font and para spacing
properties of the bad styles.
