Table of Contents problem

First of all thanks to Gaston for posting Table of Contents Update code in
answer to another question. It solved a different problem I had from the
question posed there, but I still can't figure out why my issue would come up
in the first place.

Here is the issue: Simple Table of Contents, built from heading styles.
Heading Styles are simple, clean and neat. TOC styles are simple, clean and
neat. When I run macro to create the TOC, Heading level 3's left .5 tab is
switched to a right tab. There is only one .5 left tab and there are no
right tabs in the heading style. The TOC style only contains a .5 left tab
and a right dot leader tab at 6".

Any ideas anyone? I'm stymied.

Well, after some very frustrating looks at this seemingly simple problem, it
appears that because Heading 1 is based on no style and has no numbering, and
heading 2 is also flush left, hanging indent .5, based on Normal style but
contains numbering, Word seems to get confused and swaps out the first left
tab with a right tab. By changing heading 2 to also based on no style, the
issue is resolved at template level (all other headings are based on normal
style and contain numbering and there were no issues with them).

Gaston's TOC update code resolved it at the macro level.
