Tables - Word2002

Peter

Ok, so I have a table: a long one that starts right at the top of the page.

Now I am trying to write something ABOVE the table and there is no way I can
force the thing down!

Help...

Hi Peter,

Assuming the table is at the start of your document, Press Ctrl-Home to get
to position the cursor before the first character, then press the <Enter>
key. This will insert a new paragraph before the table.

No, Enter alone does not always work. I see documents all the time that
start with a table on page 1 and for one reason or another, pressing Enter
will not, under any circumstance, add a para before the table. You can press
it till the cows come home and all you'll get is a lot of paras in cell 1.

Therefore, I showed him how to force it if necessary.

Enter works in every version from Word 6.0 forward.

It works if you are at the very top of the table, which is why pressing
Ctrl+Home is suggested.
