Taking forever to open messages in outlook

I have switched from a desktop to a laptop and transferred my personal folders to my laptop. When I attempt to open a message it takes forever especially if it is over 100kb. I know it isnt my server because I can switch back to my desktop and everything is fine. Any suggestions
