Task Drivers doesn't work after B2TR

Another issue with Project 2007 after applying B2TR is that the Task Driver
button is greyed out and doesn't work. Is it something I've done wrong?

Hi John,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I'm afraid I can't help you as I have just installed Project 2007 and the
B2TR without any problems and all is working well. I just thought you'd
like some response and to know it does work OK and the fault can only lie
with your installation. I'd be tempted to remove it all and re-install. :(

Hi Mike and John,

I don't think John is alone. I had the exact problem when I installed the
Tech Refresh for Project 2007 Beta 2. I did log it as a possible bug on the
Project 2007 feedback site:

https://www.connect.microsoft.com/feedback/SearchResults.aspx?FeedbackOverviewType=6&SiteID=235

I found that if I customized the Standard Toolbar and added the Task drivers
command as a new button, the command worked fine, it just appeared to be a
glitch in the regular button.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie and Mike

I'm working on Vista beta 2 (waiting for release candidate 1 at the moment)
and have the same problem as Julie with Project Manager as well, except
worse, I could originally get the toolbar to appear but none of the buttons
worked, now I can't get it to appear either. I'll try re-installing B2TR on
Project and see if that helps anything.

Thanks again,
John.

Hi John,

Well, I'm not running Vista but I have added some additional information
to the bug report I posted on the website I noted before.

Do keep us posted with the success/failure of the re-install.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

The fix to my issues was deleting global.mpt (solution provided by
Microsoft), but interestingly now I've lost the Show/Hide Change Highlighting
button (stll works from View menu) and I've gained a new button on the
Tracking toolbar (Set Reminder).

Thanks for the suggestions and all the best,
John.

Hi John,

You're most welcome and thanks for the feedback. I too had to delete my
copy of Global.mpt to get the task driver button to function and the
Toggle Change Highlighting button also disappeared. Like you, it still
works from the View menu and I can add the button back to any toolbar
through the Tools > Customize > Toolbars command. And yes, just to
complete the picture, I have a set reminder button on the Tracking
toolbar as well. I admit I didn't play with the tracking toolbar before
the Tech Refresh, so I can't say weather that is a new addition or not
:-D.

Thanks very much for the feedback and let us know if you find other
interesting additions/deletions to Project.
