Task Duration

I have two tasks that are assigned to three resources. When I make changes
in the View, Resource Usage, to the percent allocated for each task I adjust
the two tasks to show 50%. So the total for that day is 100%. When I make
the changes the duration in the Task view changes. Even if I change it back
to the correct duration, the View, Resource Usage changes. How do I make
project stick with the correct duration.

Tasks can be of 3 types. You then get a choice of effort driven or
non-effort driven.
Your choices are: Fixed Work, Fixed Units, Fixed Duration. Units &
Duration may also be effort driven or not.

The default is fixed units. All three come into play when changing one of
the others.
If you have 1 guy (units 100%), 1 week duration .... the work is 40hours.
If you change units to 75% the duration drops to 6.67days.

I have a matrix of how all this works in a pamphlet. Shoot me a line:

You may also want to look at Dale Howard's Book -- it is covered there too:
