Task Reassignment

Recently, my manager wanted to re-assign an existing task to me. This task
had already had some work done on it by another co-worker. The dilemma
included the original assignee not being able to "decline" the assignment so
that my manager could re-assign to me. Once the task was accepted, decline
was no longer an option.

We discovered a way around this. Editor Options>Customize>All
Commands>Decline (button). This added the decline button to the Quick Access
tool bar. We couldn't find an option to add it back to the Ribbon.
Nonetheless, adding it to the Quick Access tool bar enabled the original
assignee to decline so reassignment could be made.

Task completed!

Why didn't the PM just reassign the task to you in the Microsoft Project
plan in the first place? That would have been the simpler solution,
wouldn't it?

Also, your reference to the Quick Access toolbar leads me to conclude that
you are describing the functionality in Project Server 2010. In the future,
please tell us what version of Project Server you are using. Hope this
helps.
