Taskpane in Word 2000

Is there anyway to add left panle with custom UI to MS Word window. I know
that there is a task pane in 2003. But we have to show some custom UI as long
as word is open. Is there any way to add a outlook bar kind of UI to the word
2000 with custom user interface. I appreciate any help in this regard.

Thanks for your response. My application needs a window open all the time
when document is being edited. I could use modeless window. However users
can open multiple word documents and they will end up with multiple windows.
I need to add a panel within MS Word window. It should be possible because I
have seen some products doing that. One example is at following URL.

Could you tell me how to add a panel to MS Word window programmatically.
