tasks in projects

This is fairly specific, but I need to know before I purchase/use MS Project
whether the software is capable of performing a certain operation. In the
program software I am going to identify several projects that need to be
completed. Each project has a number of reccomendations or tactics for how
to complete the project. And each tactic is the responsibility of a
different group in the department.

When I have made all the charts for all the projects I'd like to go back and
isolate into new charts all the tasks for each project group separately so
that each group knows all the tactics they are responsible for. Is it
possible and how?

many thanks

Hi,

I wonder.
Each project will have only one set of tasks that will be executed.
If you plan alternatives, they will be planned alongside each other
Also don't know what you mean by "into new charts". I think the grouping
feature will answer your question, but not sure.
You're close by all means so why not download a trial version?

Yes, it will do that. Sorry for the barge in, it appears you want a very
quick answer.

You can utilize the custom grouping features and views such as the Resource
Usage view. The resource usage view will tell "Person B" has the following
tasks on the following days, etc.

You can also add a column, say Text1, that will allow you to do additional
grouping such as "Food", "Clothes", "Shelter". A filter can be used to show
only those projects of interest at the time.

There would be some more robust things you could do as well. Jan's
suggestion to download a free trial would be your best bet... if the task
list is relatively small, you should have it done before I go to be tonight.

Keep in mind that Project is going to assume you will execute all the tasks.
It does not have mutually exclusive events programmed in... such as "Select
only one method of obtaining Food" Since a different person is responsible
for each approach, I do not see where this would be a problem.

It''s software; it''s not allowed to win.
