Team Self-Assignment

We have a requirement to allow multiple team members to self-assign
themselves to the same task.

We created a team, assigned resources to the team, then assigned the team
leader to the task.

When one team member self-assigns the task to themselves, it is not
available for the other team members to self-assign.

We would expect that multiple team members would be able to self-assign
themselves to the same task.

Is there other functionality in Project Server 2007 that might allow us to
do this?

Thank you

You are seeing the default behavior of Project Server 2007 and there is no
way to make it work otherwise. When a team member self-assigns a Team task
in an enterprise project, the system immediately removes the task from the
Team Tasks page. An alternate approach might be to assign each of the
resources to a task requiring one or more of them to work on it, and then to
have the people Delete the task if they will not be doing the work. Those
who do not delete the task are the ones who will actually do the work. Just
a thought. Perhaps someone else has an idea for you as well. Hope this
helps.
