Template wont update

Hi,

I can manage to update a global mpt by changing views, but when I try saving
a formula it wont save the change into the template. ie when I open the
template up again, the relevant field has the value list highlighted instead
of Use formulae? why is this, I have not had this problem in the past.

PS the template is not read only.
