Templates

Has Microsoft cut down on the templates available via its office update
site? At one time I could see quite a few Access databases (eg, one for
recording your photographs). Now I can't see any although I haven't browsed
every category. If it stores them anywhere I would like to know. I currently
use Office 2000.

Hi, colin,

The site's been re-vamped, but if I search "Templates" for "Access" (in the
search boxes near the top), I get a long list of templates.

I think it's a little harder to find them because Microsoft Office is moving
away from its "application-centric" marketing to its "solution-centric"
marketing. So it may be harder to find things by application.

Anyhow, hope that helps--

Hmmm ... that is interesting. When I do that search all I get is two
databases - one about geneology, the other about repice collections! I am in
the UK. Perhaps we just don't get them here?

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, still only 2 access templates! I think
it's unfair!

Well...try posting to one of the Access newsgroups. I'm guessing there will
be lots of resources for good, free templates from the gurus out there.

Good luck--

Thanks for the link. However, it STILL defaults to the office.microsoft.com
site. And in the UK all we can see is 2 Access templates. Is there any
chance anybody 'in the know' could raise this issue with Microsoft? It
really is hopeless. I know we are quirky over here but just how many people
are going to find the recipe collection or geneology database THAT useful?!

Click the "Office Worldwide" link (on the left), select United States,
and then search for Access templates.

I'm able to replicate what you describe if I use the United Kingdom
settings.

I'm not sure how the templates are populated but I'll ask about it.
