Text box overlapping

Is there any way to get text boxes to overlap, showing
the "union" of both? I can get either one to be on top of
the other, but the top one obscures the one underneath. I
want both to show. Thanks.

Have you set the top one to No Fill? You'll also need to set the wrapping to
In Front of Text.
