text box overlay

I am try to overlay two text boxes. I want the font to overlay too.
When i order one text box to the front and try to put a part of it over
a piece of the text in the other text box. The text in the second text
box disapeers. i am wondering if it is because i am using different
font in the 2 text boxes. i have both backrounds sent to 'no
background'. any idea how i can get this to work. i am trying to make
a logo.
