Text formatting difficulties in PowerPoint 2002

T

Tucker

I'm having a couple difficulties in PowerPoint

1. I would like to lock the way a slide looks so that when I email it or someone downloads it, it looks exactly the way I intended it, apart from settings that the user may have. My problem - people view a slide that's been created one way, but the text enlarges and changes font and the objects shift around. It may be their personal settings that cause this, but I can't create my slides to accomodate their settings

2. Sometimes when I paste a slide from one presentation to another, the same kind of problem happens that I've listed above - the text size and font changes, objects shift around, etc. It's pretty frustrating when I have multiple slides to paste in to go change every single one. This might be related to the problem above...like a settings option I've not selected

Thanks for your help

Tucker,

Welcome to powerpoint.

Some good bedtime reading

(1) Sounds like fonts not available on the other users PCs
(1) Could also be powerpoint xp/2002 has a "make my slides consistent tickbox...and a "shrink my text to make it fit
feature". So turn them both off.
Make sure my chosen fonts are available

I appreciate the help, but the problem may be simpler than I previously stated. I'm just trying to copy a text box from one slide to another within the SAME presentation...and then the text goes all wacky. That seems to be a bug of some sort or some option I've mis-selected. Thanks again for any help you can give.

Tucker,

That sounds like the "powerpoint trying to be helpful feature" and failing.

When you paste the information....does a little grey box appear just below the pasted object.
If it does...click it and choose either "match destination" or "keep formatting" or whatever those 2 options are.

Cheers
