Text in Flyins piling up

I packaged a PPT to CD. I had a combination of text boxes in different
frames. The ones with static text displayed correctly, but the ones with
flyin text displayed with all the text piled up. Any ideas or is this a
known problem.

Jerry,
Which version of PPT are you using? Just off the top of my head, I am
wondering if you are using PPT 2002 and one of the newer animations. If that
is the case, you should use the "new" viewer (the one that came with 2003),
instead of the one which came with 2002. Check this entry from Steve
Rindsberg's PPT FAQ to find the new viewers:

And then, check this entry from the same FAQ to find out how to better
transfer your presentation to an autorun CD:

Kathy,
I am running PPT 2003. Yesterday (after this problem started), I did
download the latest PP Viewer from Microsoft Downloads. It didn't solve the
problem. I'm not having a problem creating the CD (the autorun works fine).
The inserted music works fine. Text boxes with static text work fine. The
only problem is with the flyin text. I open the PPT on the CD with
PowerPoint (in read-only mode) and checked out the frames I was having a
problem with. They were ok in the PPT. It is only when played back using the
viewer that the text piled up. Makes me concerned that there is a problem
with flyin text presentation by the viewer. I would hate to have to change
the frames to use static text. It loses the effect that the flyin creates.

Any ideas??? Thanx in advance.

Very strange. I don't recall any issues with Fly In specifically, but what
happens if you change to a different animation, say, Peek In instead of Fly
In?

Jerry,
if changing the animation (as Echo suggests) doesn't make any difference,
send me a presentation with just one of the slides that is broken and I will
see if I can figure anything out. Unknot my reply address to reach the real
me.

Kathy/Echo,
Amazing!! I changed the animation from flyin to peekin on the three
slides I was having trouble with. To save wasting a CD, I first tested by
copying to a folder and manually launching the viewer. So far, so good. I
then wrote the folder to a CD.
I then played it back without any problem. The difference bewteen flyin and
peekin is so subtle I can hardly notice it.

Thanks to both of you. I think I will now wander into the desert and try to
create a DVD presentation.

I'm sure I'll be talking to you again

Glad to hear the substituted animation works. Have fun making the DVD -
that's not something that is easy :)

Well, I've no idea why the Fly Ins are piling up, but it's good to know the
Peek Ins work! Heck, I actually like them better than Fly Ins anyway.

Good luck with the DVD.
