Text-Size Confusion

My Master Title has a 28 point text size. It's set on the title box and
just in case, in the title text too.

Normal view > Insert Slide

The Title Text box is 28 point. Click inside, it's 28 point. Type just one
single charater... it's 24 point.

What's happening?

Is it possible that the placeholder is too small for 28 point text? (maybe it
needs to be "taller"?)
