Hello,

Is nobody having the solution for this problem ?

in Word 2007 SP1 the message is :

"the program used to create this object is excel" that program is not
installed on your computer.

when you insert a excel spreadsheet it works and you are able to open and
close the excel but after saving and closing the word document you got the
error message

Best regards

It may have something to do with Word 2007 corrupting links when saved. This
is currently being escalated by MS. I'm not sure, but this may be related.

I just received this error message for the first time this morning. After
finding your thread, and several others, I was able to solve MY issue after
reading through this article.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint/HA101991921033.aspx#Issues with
OLE objects

Basically, in my instance, I was trying to insert a spreadsheet that I had
just created in Excel 2007. It gave me a Package error when I tried to
drag-and-drop into the document, and an Excel error if I tried to add it as
an object using the tools menu.

In the end, I had to close all instances of Excel before it would allow me
to add the spreadsheet. Once I had closed all my other instances, I was able
to drag-and-drop and insert it using the Word menus.
