Hi Jocelyn

Hope you don't mind me starting a new thread to finish this saga off, but I
was getting so confused with the first one that I was getting into a deeper
and deeper mire! (And I've managed to get myself stuck there - again - for
whatever reason! :-( )

As you may remember, I was supposed to be transferring my address book to
the new user profile, along with all the old messages (the 48Mb file) - but I
found I couldn't open a new user profile and get the files I want / need, and
nor could I transfer my address book! So at the moment I still have three
folders in Outlook, each of which has the same information in it (I think I
must have done something with a copy and paste somewhere to make sure I
didn't lose some files, but then put them into the wrong place - hence I am
now three folders to the good.)

Worse still - I was deliberately NOT downloading my e-mails until Outlook
was sorted out, but for some reason this morning - I didn't do anything I
don't normally do - all of a sudden over 600 e-mails were downloaded to
Outlook Express - something I have never used, and don't want to, as I find
it a rather childish version of the full blown Outlook! I haven't tried to
open any to see what there is in there, as I don't want to cock things up any
more than they are already (put it all down to my tired grey cells and
feeling the effects of this heatwave we are in the midst of - all of which is
just making me even more bad tempered!!)

Hopefully, from where I have managed to lodge myself now it might be easier
to extract me and get Outlook back up and running properly. (If you need any
details of file locations / properties / etc., / etc., then just let me know
and I'll respond asap.

With thanks for all your kindness and understanding.
