Hi Team,
It would be great if we are able to integrate a plug-in to eclipse , Visual
IDE, etc kind of development environments, a time tracking tool.
The tool runs always in background calculating the amount of "busy-ness" of
editor in turn, of the user.
The system will automatically request the user to enter the cause before
rolling to the editor for his/her work.
1)If the session is idle, (like user is on telephone conversation, went for
a nature call, collect mail, etc)
2)If the user willing to lock the work station
This system looks like policing one, however is a very good tool in hands of
Project Manager to calculate real/exact time required for accomplishment of a
task.
However the PM also could professionally exercise his control over his team
members.
If a seperate tool in used for time entry :
1)There are chances for a team member who can over shoot his/her timings
(or) forget to enter the time which this tool does.
I am a Systems Administrator who was filling my time sheets in a heavy
weight application. This was a big task for me while I should keep up my
day-day Job also. I have been thinking for a long and this idea struck me.
The same tool can be integrated to various service based tools like Remedy,
HP OV etc.
Please make refinements to the idea and see if its viable.
Warm Regards
Mahen
