Timeline Format Work Week Label

The 2004 calendar year has its first work week (WW) as January 4. I want WW01
to be December 28.

Is there a way to change the Timeline format "Label:" 1,2,... 52,1,... to be
December 28 from the January 4 it is now?

Hi C,
I assume from your post that you are trying to set your company's fiscal
year to start on Tuesday, December 28th. I don't believe that is possible.
The Fiscal year settings on the Tools --> Options --> Calendar tab only set
Months, not a specific day in the month, as the beginning of the fiscal year.
With the "week starts on" set to Tuesday in Tools --> Options --> Calendar
tab and the fiscal year set to start in January, I show the week of 12/28/040
- 1/3/05 as week 53.

Sorry, perhaps someone has else has written some code to get what you need,
but I don't believe it is possible "out of the box."

As I mentioned in my earlier reply, if you want to count work weeks relative
to the start of the project (not the start of the fiscal year) set the
timescale format to show one of the formats "From Start".

Have you tried setting the Week starts on: to Tuesday? That might work.

Did you ever figure out how to set the beginning of the fiscal year to a
time in the previous calendar year? I'm having the same problem but with
setting up quarters...

sharoonie,
Shouldn't be a problem. Using 2004 as the example, I set up the
timescale with 3 tiers although it will also work with 2 tiers. The
upper tier is "years" (2004, 2005, ...), the middle tier is "quarters"
(Qtr 1, Qtr 2, ...) and the bottom tier is "weeks" (W1, W2, from start).
The default setting for all tiers is for fiscal years.

Here's the most important step. Under Tools/Options/Calendar tab, make
sure the Week start on: is set for Sunday and the Fiscal year start in:
is set for January.

The fiscal year vertical line will start at the beginning of January,
but the first work week will start on 12/28/2004 (in this example).

Hope this helps.
