To-> box shows semicolon but no contact email address

When trying to send an email, I click "New", then, to get
email address I click "To" which gives me the Select Names
box. If I double-click the name I want (or highlight it
and click "To") the email address doesn't appear....only a
semicolon????

Can anyone help?

Did you import these Contacts? If so, how and from what source?
