Track users visiting the site... can i?

hey there,


got a couple questions i need help with...

Is there anyway for me to track users visiting my site?

I mean, im about to upload a site (someone else is
working on it, i dont know anything about this matter)
but the site it will be password protected since we just
want our "reps" to see whats on... is there a way for me
to see which rep logs in/out??
i would like to be able to print a report, lets say every
month... and see who did visit and who did not...

i talked to out hosting service, they told me there is no
way to do this.... what do you think?

could you help me on this?

(Hosting service do provide IP information about the
visitors, useless since we want to know WHO did visit the
site, not FROM WHERE)

How are you protecting the page? If you said asp and you
are validating against a database, you could add another
table to the db (I'll call it usage) and have fields of user
and date_time. On the asp validation page have it write in
the usage db the user and timestamp.
