Trouble downloading pictures from the Internet

I am trying to download a picture from the internet and the only two options
I have in My Pictures is art and bmp as file extensions. How do I add jpeg
as a file extension.

When I tried one of the other two when I try to open the picture, I only get
a little box with an x inside of it.

This is not an office issue, it is Internet Explorer.
Clear out your TIF files.
