Trouble opening word 2003 documents

I am having the same problem as others, I can't open any word docs that I
create or have on disk in Word 2003 (the error message "file not found"
appears). Also, when I try to close Word, it asks to change the normal
template. I disabled NAV as advised, but I am still having the same problem.
Any suggestions?

It is the Office plug-in of Norton AV that needs to be disabled!
It could be a registration issue if this doesn't fix it. See
