True compatibility

I want to use office xp and office x to interact for my powerpoint
presentations.

My presentations are basic slides, but I frequently have small video
clips in them, which I add to the slides. These are usually mpeg2's

Can i take a presentation made from xp, and will it work with the mac?
The reason I ask is because I am considering getting a powerbook g4.

So my question is, I know that animations don't do well between the
platforms, but what about video clips?
thanks boys, :>

You shouldn't have much of an issue. MPEG-2 video clips will play on both
PowerPoint X and PowerPoint XP.

What you do need to be concerned about is maintaining the link structure.

On the PC, do this by moving the MPEG file to the same folder that the
presentation is in, and then insert it. When you play it on the Mac, make
sure the MPEG and PPT files are in the same folder, and it should work.

On the Mac, do this by going to File -> Save As, and choosing to save as a
"PowerPoint Package". This will place the movie file in the same folder as
the presentation, so you only need to move the package's folder to the PC to
play it. However, you must manually add ".ppt" to the end of the
presentation's filename within the package folder.

If you're creating a presentation in PowerPoint XP, but know it's going to
be played in PowerPoint X, you can set up XP to use the old animations that
are compatible with the Mac version. Instructions to do so can be found
