Turn off autmatic updates of dates in documents

I need to turn off the feature that automatically updates the dates in my
documents with the current date.

Then don't use the "Now" field.

Hi Willie,

Your automatic dates are being controlled by a DATE field. You'll see this if you toggle the field code display via Alt-F9. Do that
and you'll see something like {DATE}. Change 'DATE' to 'CREATEDATE' and you'll get the date the document was created. If the date
field is being inserted by a template, make the change in the template too. Press Alt-F9 again when you're done to toggle the field
code display off again.
