Turning Off Automatic Updates for Office 2004

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

As we are about to go away traveling and will be on a small prepaid wireless plan I don't want to use all my downloads up with the Office Auto Updater. Does anyone know how to turn it off - or turn it on manual?

Thanks

In Word, Menu: Help, Check for Updates, change to "Manual". When you get
back do again to make automatic.

You will find, even turning this off, that if are using your Mac for
email and internet that you'll rack up an impressive number of megabytes.

I've learned to find local internet suppliers and not rely on
home-country purchases.

Or simply avoid connecting laptop or mobile phone to the internet where
the cost for it goes back to the home country account.
