Two Versions of Word

Let's rephrase the question -
Is there a problem having 2 version of Word on the same computer. Word 2003
(as a component of Office 2003), and Word 2000 (not part of any Office.)?

You need to install the older version first. The only problem is that if you
have been using Word 2003, it will be the registered version in Windows. If
you then open Word 2000, it will run Setup taking about a minute (more or
less) to reregister itself as the default. Next time you change back to Word
2003, Office setup will run and so on. Providing you can live with this, it
is fine.
