Are you saying that the cursor is moving, when you type in
Word? Then perhaps the text of your Normal template has
been accidentally modified to have a white or hidden font.
Have you tried to rename the existing Normal.dot file,
with Word closed, and then start Word again, which will
cause Word to create a fresh copy of the template? For a

I cannot get Word to accept any typing at all. The page
remains blank no matter what I type. this is a recent
occurence and I have no clue as to why it started. I can
type to Outlook express and URL's and queriea for search
engines but nothing for Word. Any suggestions most
