Unable to connect to Project Server after Citrix migrated to Win20

We have been using MS-Project Pro 2003 installed on Citrix for some time now
as some of our WAN connections are too slow for launching MS-Project Pro on
individual machines connecting over WAN links to the project server.

We created a new Citrix system as we are moving all our servers to Windows
2003 environment. All other apps seem to work except for MS-Project Pro. When
we configure it in Tools->Options->Collaborate and setup the Project Server
url and click on Test Connection, it fails and the error details indicate
that the "high" security settings of Internet Explorer is to blame for this.
So, I entered the project server url under Trusted sites and tried again.
But, the problem persists.

The solution was simple. The administrator of the Citrix server had to log in
with his admin id and then try to connect to the PWA. That process installs
something into the server after which the rest of us could connect to the
project server thru citrix.

Hi Saibal.

I just have a question that branches off from your posting. We are
thinking of trialing an install of Project Pro 2003 with sp2 on CITRIX
for the same reason (WAN connections). I was just wondering if you had
any tips or leassons learnt as this will be the first time i attempt
something like this.

Thnkas for any information you can provide.

Over a slow WAN (300ms+ latency) I have found that Terminal Services logs in
in half the time of Citrix, but that Citrix is slightly faster doing all
actions. So, use Citrix for long editing sessions, but Terminal Services for
short edits!
