Unable to delete a Word Document.

Unable to delete Word Document. Cannot drag and drop in recycle bin. Cannot
get to properties. Microsoft Office 2003. Tried Safe Mode to delete, still
could not delete it. Thanks

What happens when you select the document in Windows Explorer and then press
the Delete key? Do you get a message of some sort?

No message, nothing, Can open the file. But cannot move it or delete it.

Looks like part of the file extinction is missing. It looks like “.dâ€. It
should look like “.doc†but I can’t fix it.

With Word closed use Start=>Find/Search for files using
~$*.*;*.tmp
delete those and see if you can then delete the Word file.

The file was not a tmp file.
I deleted the file by opening a DOS session, going to the directory, and
deleting with the command Del In*
