Unable to obtain data using print screen

S

Smokin' Joe

I get a message that says, "Word cannot obtain the data...blah, blah,blah..."
when I try to paste info into Word from clip board using print screen or ctrl
alt print screen. Can you help? What can I try?

Try clearing your cache.

In Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options. On the
General tab, click Delete Files.

I tried to clear files in IE. Didn't work. Seems there might be a setting in
Windows somewhere. Can use print screen and paste to Word on other PCs. But
not Dell laptop. ????

JoAnn,

Tried deleting files in IE but didn't work. It seems like it's a setting
somewhere in Windows. Print screen and paste to Word works on my other PCs
though.

Try Start - Run - and type in clipbrd. Hit okay. That will open your
Clipboard Viewer. Anything stuck in there? If so, Edit - Delete.

Let me know if that works.

Specifically what is the error message? Don't use blah, blah, blah. That
could be the part that points us in the right direction. ;-)
