Unable to print lines using lne tool; does not appear in preview: Word 2003 XP

Suddenly the lines made with the line drawing tool do not
appear on the preview screen, nor do they print; they do
appear on the working screen?

In the Tools=>Options=>Print (or File=>Print=>[Options]
screen see if 'drawing objects' has become unchecked.
