Unable to Publish or Republish Assignments

In one projects, (does not happen with any other project) I am unable
to Publish or Republish Assignments. When I click on Republish
Assignments option in Project Pro 2003, I get the following message:
"An update has not yet been sent to resources who has been removed
from task assignments. An update with this information will be sent
now. Click OK to proceed. Click Cancel to close this message." I
select OK, but I do not see the words "Publish information sent for
processing" and the resources do not see the tasks in PWA. The
resources' booking type is set to Committed. There are 1405 tasks.
Even when I chose Collaborate > Publish > All Information, nothing
happens. I'm open for suggestions.

Thanks,
Kathy

The failure to publish is usually a sign that the project has become
corrupted. The process to resolve the corruption is as follows:

1. Open the project.
2. Click File - Save As and then click Save as File.
3. Select the Type pick list and select XML.
4. Save the project in a folder of your choice on your hard drive or your
network.
5. Ask your Project Server administrator to delete the project.

If the project has Risks, Issues, or Documents associated with it, ask the
Project Server administrator to refer to the following FAQ:

http://www.projectserverexperts.com/Shared Documents/DeleteProjectWithoutSubweb.htm

6. After he/she deletes the project, import the XML project back into
Project Server using Tools - Enterprise Options - Import Project to
Enterprise.

If the project has Risks, Issues, or Documents, the Project Server
administrator can attach the old subweb to the newly imported project using
addtional steps in the above referenced FAQ. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Dale, for the step-by-step response.

By the way, thanks for the larger print in your new 2007 MSPS books.
It makes for easier reading. One suggestion, may be the next version
could be multiple volumns. They are a little heavy when taking them
on the road for reading and reference. Otherwise, they are great.
