Unable to update Windows User Account

I am trying to update the Windows User Account field in our Resource Pool,
but that field is locked. Another user can update this field using the same
file. Some times the field is locked, some times it tis updateable.

What conditions lock this field to updates?

Jim,
This is a Project Server question. You are more likely to get a response
if you post to our sister newsgroup: microsoft.public.project.server.
This newsgroup is dedicated to questions/issues about the standalone
version of Project.

John,
I am not using Project Server, I'm using stand alone MsProject. I need to
know someone's windows logonid for another MsProject addin I'm using. I've
used this field for over 3 years, but now it is open to edit sometimes and
unavailable other times. I will post on the Project Server newsgroup, but
they will probably suggest I post it here since I'm not using Project Server.

OK, I've never actually had a need to use that field so I guess in a
non-server environment, it is just another text field for resources. It
is not active for material resources but you indicate that another user
can make entries when you cannot. The only explanation I have is that
perhaps your installation of Project has some corruption. I would try
running Detect and Repair under the Help menu.

It is still a good idea to post to the server newsgroup. Since the field
is intended for that configuration, the MVPs there might have better
suggestions than I do.

Good luck.
