We are using word 2002 and on one of our computers the graphics only show as
placeholders. The graphics are there in print preview and when you go to the
file but when we scroll past the graphic and back to it the placeholders are
all that remains. The other computers have no such problem. I have check the
options and they are the same on all computers (deselected placeholders and
selected drawing) I am at my whits end. please help

Hi Dorothy,

On the problem computer, try checking, then unchecking 'picture
placeholders' under Tools|Options|View. If that doesn't fix it, you may have
a problem with that PC's graphics card/driver.

Cheers

Hi Macropod (strange name - your Mum must be unique)
This seem to sound right. I will wait til I can get the guy who uses that
computer , off it to load the drivers. This computer is a lap top & he
(ofcourse it is a "he") has had this problem since new.
I had already tried the placeholders and drawing checking and unchecking,
but of no avail
Thanks, and I will let you (and that means everyone else who is looking in
this) how I got on.
Have a great day
Dorothy

I would like to thank you for this advise/assistance. I downloaded the
updated drivers from the net, the accelerator driver and that has fixed the
problem. I must add, before I went on the net and got this driver, that when
I did the check "if this is the correct driver" my computer said that it was
correct and there were no updates. So don't believe you computer, always
manually look for the correct or updated driver.
Thanks "macropod"
