Uninstall activated Office 2003, reinstall to same machine

P

Pedro Guerrero

I have a few Office 2003 activated installations that I must downgrade to
Office XP for other software compatibility.

If I uninstall the activated copies, install Office XP and activate it and
later on remove Office XP and re-install the original Office 2003, will that
work for activation purposes?

Thanks,

Pedro

No problem. For retail versions you are entitled to install it on any number of PCs provided you don't use them simultaneously. But again who is going to know if you are using all the PCs at the same time!. i am not sure if it is possible to use all the PCs simultaneously when normal humans have only two hands and 10 fingers!

You might want to copy the following file (for XP at least - I don't use Office 2003) so that when you install the Office again on the same machine you don't have to activate!:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\Office\Data\data.dat

I use non Microsoft products wherever possible which requires no activation.

I use Netscape 7.2 as my default browser which has everything I need for my work.
