Unwanted Vertical Line

WORD 2003: A document that an associate has been preparing for me has
suddenly developed a vertical line on the right side, that runs the entire
length of the page. It is positioned about two-thirds of the way from the
right margin to the right page edge. I don't know how to figure out what it
is, how it got there, or how to get rid of it.

An unrelated question, but one that might help me in the future. On a
different computer (I'm using a new laptop, but that has nothing to do with
the line), I accidentally got a help setting that allowed me to place the
cursor anyplace on the page and find out formatting and other information
about whatever the cursor was on. I don't know how to engage that feature -
but that might help me figure out other things as well.

Thanks.

The line could be a page border (Format | Borders and Shading | Page
Border), or it could be a change bar if Track Changes is enabled.

If you display the Reveal Formatting task pane, I think you will get the
information you describe.

Excellent help - everything I needed. Thanks so much. The line was a page
border. I couldn't find it in the Reveal Formatting task pane, but at least
I now know how to get the pane.
