update dates

I'm updating an exsisting Project.

Why can't I change the start dates on the task.
The date drop down arrowis grey.

You cannot change the date of summary tasks. Instead, using predecessors and
durations the dates of the subordinate (indented) tasks may be changed.

Generally, it is not good to key a date into a task because it will create
constraints. For example, if you key in a start date, you will be creating a
Start No Earlier Than constraint. Not good, because if a predecessor task
finishes early, this task will not start until the date keyed.

Hi Jim,
I'm facing the same Date (Start & End) field problem when creating new
tasks. I', running on PWA 2003 and terminal services. I keep getting ActiveX
control when reach Date field to press SPACEBAR/ENTER and return the system
dates for both Start and End. Our users want a Calender view to choose.
Please advise any solutions? Is urgent cos the training going to start soon
for the users.
