Update Fields for Linked Files

I have a file that contains links to other documents
(IncludeText field), and I wanted to update other fields
such as captions. So I pressed F9... and my linked file
text disappeared!

Any ideas why?. It would be a great help.

Hi Helen

Probably because Word cannot find your files, or the files themselves no
longer contain the text.

Press Alt-F9 so you can see the field codes, and see what path you have in
the INCLUDETEXT.
