Update WORD Version

M

Morton

I have been using Ver 4.0a for a long time but it won't print to my new
printer. Can I update to Ver 9.0 and still access all my current documents
and database files?

Is this a Mac version? There is no version 4.0 (a or otherwise) of Word for
Windows.

It is Windows, came as OEM with my old PC

When you go to Help | About Microsoft Word, what version number is given?
FWIW, an upgrade to 9.0 (Word 2000) would be a giant leap but still three
versions old (and out of support).

Version is 4.0a for Win 95, dated 1996 (this is VERY old). I have .WDB
databases and .WPS word processing documents that I can't lose! Thanks for
your help.

Okay, if you have .wdb databases and .wps word processing documents, then
what you have is not Word but Works. I suggest you inquire in the Works
newsgroup about upgrading to the current version of that program.

Incidentally, Word for Windows 95 was version 7.0.

You're right, it's WORKS. Thanks.
