Upgrade an Upgrade?

I currently have Office Pro 2003 installed on my computer. This was an
upgrade from an earlier complete version.
I no longer have the disks from the earlier version that was the basis for
the upgrade to 2003. I do have the 2003 upgrade disks.
My question: Can I use an upgrade version of 2007 Pro to move to the current
Office Pro, or do I need to buy the full version?
I know MS says that 'any version' (from 2000 on) of an Office suite is
eligible for the upgrade, but I don't know how literally I can take that.
I've searched Microsoft all the ways I can think of and haven't found an
answer for this, so help would be most appreciated.

You can use the Office 2003 upgrade disc to install Office 2007 upgrade. The
Office 2003 upgrade disk is actually a full version {not partial} of Office
2003.

Since Office 2003 is curently installed, you will not need the Office 2003
disc to install Office 2007 upgrade. But, do not loose the Office 2003 disc
as you will need it if you ever need to do a clean install of Office 2007
upgrade with out Office 2003 being currently installed.
