Upgrade to XP, error - file already in use by...

Upgraded from Win95 to Win XP. Reinstalled Office 97.
When opening a file in Word etc., get message "File
already in use by... Would you like to make a copy?" If
I chooses "Cancel" I see the file fine.

To rectify try re-registering the applications. Note this isn't the same as
Registering the product. Go to Start/Run and run the following:

winword /r
excel /regserver
powerpnt /regserver
msaccess /regserver

This worked a treat for me.
