Use of calendar

Am tracking multiple projects for which there is a single resource
pool. The situation is like this. Project A, B, C and D are running
concurrently but A will close first, then B and so on. When proect
reaches its peak for about a week, the resources allocation will be
solely for Project A and for that week, many of the resources wont be
available for the other projects. Similarly, when project B is going
to close, the resources wont be available for other remaining projects.


What I have done is to go to the resource pool, and updated the key
resources availability as N.A during the week when a project is closing
down. But the problem is, during the week when am closing Project A
down, how do I get use these resources for Project A ??

Any thoughts ??

Hi Aaren,

There is a feature called priority available for each task. Try setting the
priority to your tasks as you want them to be resourced. The resource
levelling feature allows you to level based on priority. This should allow
the resources to be allocated to those Project A tasks which have higher
priority over the Project B tasks etc.
